PROtainment has announced free downloads for the release of ‘Good Times (Remix),’ the first national release from LJK’s CD THE MOVEMENT (LJK). Publicist Preston Lee states, “After being pushed back in August for various reasons, it only seemed befitting to give it away to those that have been awaiting the hot release.” The single just shipped to radio in early January and is available to everyone for free at the following web address: http://music.download.com/themovementjlk/3600-8572_32-100573498.html

LJK’s project is being re-released in February. Producer Terry Letman says “until now radio had been slow to give the project a chance, due primarily to lack of promotion, but now with the help of friends like Theodis Ealey of ‘Stand Up In It’ fame, Funky Larry Jones from the SOULANDBLUESREPORT.COM and others, spins are picking up and people are catching on.” WZKS-FM, KTOY-FM, KZRB-FM, WCQS, WRES-LP, WBDL, WJST, WMOA, KKRB, KOJM, WCMT, WTNE-FM, KZWY, KNRQ, KRAJ, KIXR, KDEL, WJDF, KEHK, WJER-FM, WJER, KLLM, WOCO, KUJZ, WSNU, KLMJ, WWIS have already added THE MOVEMENT (LJK) to their playlist. The PD for WZKS says “you have a hit record on your hands” and we believe it.

The Editor for Download.com says, "The midtempo sexy rhythms of neo-soul outfit the Movement (LJK)--the initials standing for bandmembers Jemiah, Lovechilde, and Kormelo--combine the sleek R&B production style of Earth, Wind & Fire with a Southern soul feeling. The result is sensual and utterly dynamic." What are you waiting for? Go to Download.com or place the link above in your browser and get your free download now. A New Vision

Well it's the week of Thanksgiving and we have posted a new website, released a remix for Good Times, and decided to take on radio promotions in house for a while. We want to make sure that our every move is calculated according to the vision and/or plan that we have in place for the next year. Our plan is set up to reach a certain level of success each quarter and to re-release The Movement (LJK) with a new cover (See Below), the new remix and awesomely re-mastered. We have Theodis Ealey to thank for our new outlook. This has to be one of the nicest guys we've met in the industry in quite some time.

We should be present in the upcoming SoulAndBluesReport and we will begin servicing their reporting stations the second week of December. Any dj's and music directors that would like servicing, please contact Terry Letman at 828-285-9786 or tletman@protainment.com. If you get a chance to drop by the website www.protainment.com, feel free to give us any feedback on what you think.

Well since we are less than twelve hours away from feasting, Lovechilde, Jemiah and Kormelo leave you with this.

Give thanks to God for all he's done and spread love to everyone.

New Deals, Gigs and Possibilities

We have signed a contract with A.R.E. Distribution and the legendary (Al Bell). We'll be sending out a few hundred promotional CD's today (Aug. 30, 2004). WJMZ in South Carolina also asked us to be the opening act for Van Hunt. (Sept. 12, 2004) We are also now one of the performers on the annual Bayfest that happens in Mobile AL every year. I believe we may be opening for the funk man himself George Clinton (Oct. 2, 2004.) On Saturday (Aug. 28. 2004) The Barkays were in town for Asheville's own Goombay Festival. I won't get into how we ended up being removed (by someone on Goombay's board) from being their (The Barkays) opening act over $350.00. Anyway it was still a good move for us to go down and see them (The Barkays) perform, now that we are both now being distributed by A. R. E. Coincidently our radio promoter (Mike Austin from Team Airplay) was there and introduced us to the band. Little did we know how much work inside the industry these guy still do and one of them is the farther of Jazzy Pha the producer of many of today's hits (MC Breed, Bow Wow, Lil' Wayne, Baby, Yasmeen, Cee Lo Green, Ciara, etc.) Mike also took us out to eat and talk about how we are now going to be one big family now. We are very happy at this point and will enjoy every bit of any success that comes from these new relationships. We intend to stay focused and prepare for anything that comes our way. So come take a ride with The Movement on the come up.

A.R.E. Distribution In The Movement's Future

Well the verdict is in. I spoke with Al Bell today and he said he loved the record. "After listening to the single over and over I realized that along with being well produced, arranged and recorded overall the lyrical content has a message that you rarely hear in the r&b/hip-hop genre anymore," says Bell. By the beginning of next week we should have a contract on the table for even more national distribution than what's available through BCD Music. The deal will allow us to be in WalMart, Circuit City, Target, K-mart, Best Buy and other major retailers. Thanks God.

By the way the Johnson City gig was a major success. We had a great crowd and the performance was more than energetic. Big things are happening and we are more than ready to ride the wave of opportunity. I am actually kind of preoccupied by the video footage of the performance right now so I'm going to cut this blog short.

Till the next.....................

Momentum For The Movement

Well it's been a minute since my last post and quite frankly a lot has been going on. Since bringing on our new radio and retail promotion team things have started picking up. We have been added to the playlist for stations WZKS-FM, KZRB-FM, KTOY-FM, WCQS, WRES and asked to send product to a few more clubs. The program director for WZKS-FM (A Clear Channel station) says we "have a hit record and that right now we are getting about 5 spins a day." Saturday August 7th we had an interview on WCQS in Asheville with Jamal Jabali on his program Round Midnight. Jabali, who had the opportunity to catch our Bele Chere performance in July said "I was more that pleasantly surprised to not only catch a great performance, but after listening to the CD and finding so many singles therein shows a professionalism unheard of these days."

We may be in negotiation for more distribution with A.R.E. Distribution once the man himself (Al Bell) has evaluated the project and puts his stamp of approval on it. It definitely looks promising considering we are getting commercial spins and adds.

We have also been speaking with a few booking agents and things look very promising with a few. Of coarse the more exposure we get the easier it will be to get gigs but we want to make sure that we have a good relationship with anyone representing us. Speaking of gigs, we will be opening for Midnight Star at the Umoja Festival in Johnson City, TN. August 14th at 7:30 (Freedom Hall Civic Center). Anyone in the Johnson City region should come out and catch the performance you won't be disappointed.

P.S. Call WXIS Jammin 92.3 / 103.9 423-743-6123 or go to http://www.werjammin.com/ and ask to hear our new single "Good Times" from the CD THE MOVEMENT.

THANKS

Where are we now

Well we made through the Bele Chere performance without a hitch. I only wish that our video guy had shown up to get it. He tells me that he had to go see about his uncle but it seems a little shady to me. Never the less there is nothing I can do about it now other than not depend on him to do anything else for us.

We were supposed to open for the headliner (Calvin Richardson) for the night of our performance but due to the fact that there was a little hateraid involved in the selection process that did not happen. The general consensus in that had we opened for him (Calvin) we probably would have given him a run for his money. That being said, I spoke with his road manager and left a card and CD in his possession to peruse and think on letting us open for him on some of his upcoming dates.

My next goal is to finish the radio edit for "Good Times" and get the CD's pressed by the beginning of next week, so that the promoter can get to work on building a radio and retail buzz that should/will generate dollars. Look out for the single and call any radio station around you to request "Good Times" from THE MOVEMENT CD.

Well I must go now and mail off some more info.

Getting Ready For Bele Chere '04

It has been a crazy week. We have tried everything in our power to set up something in Atlanta GA. and it may have paid off. But first we have a gig coming up in our home town that could really help our exposure. Every year Asheville has a festival called Bele Chere and three hundred to four hundred thousand people come and enjoy the music and everything Asheville has to offer. We were happily chosen to perform this year and will also try to video tape the performance to  help beef up our promos for booking future gigs. The energy of it being a home gig should really convey a good vibe with who ever may be watching.

We have had quite a few rehearsals to polish up on what we already know and making sure nothing has been forgotten. God help us as always............ It seems like sometimes things just fall into place at the last minute. Don't get me wrong we will rock the house, but we also want this to be a pivotal performance in a positive and economical way.

Back to the ATL check us out and see if we make it but I think we will be doing a gig on August 6th at the Apache Cafe. This is a nice quaint place with a real nice vibe. I hope this time is not necessarily to make a lot of money, but to create a buzz in that region. Once people start talking about how good and exciting our performances are then it's easy to create something else. So that's pretty much it for now. Our contact seems to be a little shaky about something and we haven't quite put a finger on what it is yet. Once we find out we'll make sure to let you know

Peace

Connections

Well as most of you, with any business it's all about connections and at this point our objective is to make as many connections as possible. Though sending press and promo packages to anyone that will listen is not exactly the idea it is the premise of our promotion actions.

We are currently on a path of creating a buzz in Hotlanta (ATL, GA). The fact that there are so many people that love or buy the type of music we create, plus the idea that the live music scene is alive and surviving, all aid in our decision to make this one of our primary markets. First we are planning a CD release party where THE MOVEMENT plans to perform most of, if not all of, the latest project. This should take place in the next thirty to sixty days. We are trying to find out where. Three hot spots have come up including The Apache, Vinyl and The Renaissance Room. We will keep you informed as we confirm everything.

One of the primary contacts we have been fortunate to come into contact with is Mose Hardin (Xavier Entertainment). Mose is basically our key to the Atlant market. In Atlanta if you haven't done anything they have already seen or heard of, you need to be connected to someone who has. Mose has, and is set to do more. Please check out his link and look into his future. We will be featured on his site soon, now that he has heard the project and realize we are not fooling around.

There are some other juicy connections being made but for now we will keep them on the back burner until we know exactly what they want to do you dig.

Peace for now.

THE MOVEMENT featuring Lovechilde, Jemiah and Kormelo

Biography

Three hot new artists have come together to record their first studio album, THE MOVEMENT, at the prestigious New Vision Studios in Asheville, North Carolina. One year after meeting each other in the studio, doing separate projects, Lovechilde, Jemiah and Kormelo started conversing about how great it would be to work together. Though sometimes it seemed as if it could never happen, due to their individual constraints and obligations, here they are performing and promoting their new release.

One of the reasons they chose to record together was because they always seemed to be on the same page in regards to stage and studio performances. Lovechilde had already formed a band he labeled the Super-band and they were blowing away those fortunate enough to hear their warm and colorful sound. Working with Jemiah and Kormelo could only enhance what was there and make it better. Now their crowd pleasing performances consistently fill dance floors and rock stages.

Lovechilde has been writing, arranging, producing and performing music for many years, working with such R&B funk-sters Cameo and the gospel group Terry Letman & Friends. He's now one of the most in demand writers and produces in Western Carolina. Whether it's a pop, R&B, rock, alternative or hip-hop production, he does it well. Jemiah "The Princess" is an astonishing new vocalist found singing in church by Label Owner / Producer Terry Letman. When the idea of including a female artist came up, she was the first and only name brought to the table. Classically trained in voice, piano and clarinet she sounds like an angel and effortlessly performs perfection. Kormelo has been the lead singer for several regional groups like Qwest and 2BTrue, and has opened for many acts such as Eight Ball & MJG, Ludacris, G-Dep and Juvenile. After attending The Recording Workshop in Ohio (Late 2002) he received an audio engineering certificate and established Lost Tribe Productions. Together they have created a classic. THE MOVEMENT is beyond neo-soul but a close cousin to Earth, Wind and Fire meets Mary J. Blige.

Some of the songs, like "Unstoppable," "I'm Gone," "Let's Get Away" and "Everyday Everyway" depict a divers array of R&B styles. Other songs, like "Work It Out," "Good Times" and "Let's Get Rowdy" (a reggae influenced hit) are eclectic urban / pop bangers. "I Really Miss You" (a crossover hit) was written with mainstream radio in mind. All the songs are great on CD but are ultra incredible live. When performed along with the Super-band they are just infectious to making you move.

Throughout the next year Lovechilde, Jemiah and Kormelo will be touring and performing any and everywhere possible. They will also finish recording their solo albums during the short breaks. At some point they will try to get some rest but how can you rest and be on the move.

We hope you enjoy THE MOVEMENT and have fun at the shows.
